My career in the construction industry started in 1989 when i was 16 years old, walking into the army careers office wanting to join the Royal Engineers.
Through an enjoyable and varied career I was able to gain a host of transferable skills and qualifications including learning my trade as a Plant operator mechanic from basic skills in operating machinery through to planning and management gaining my NEBOSH General and Construction certificates in 2004.
After a career spanning 24 years as a Plant Specialist rising through the ranks resulted in my ability to manage construction projects worldwide.
After my Army career, I pursued a career in training which covered all aspects of construction industry training including Health and Safety and gaining qualifications as a CPCS and NPORS trainer/tester. I eventually decided to make the leap into Health and Safety consultancy,
responsible for carrying out regular and systematic site inspections and development visits with the site management teams and contractors. Including advising clients of legal requirements and Approved Code of Practice to ensure compliance to Company policies and procedures.
